I graduated in medicine in 1998 and I have been working on the effects of exercise on health at an academic level since 1998. I have been practicing lifestyle medicine as a medical specialty since 2011. Between 2010 and 2012 I was assistant professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences of Semmelweis University, where I was also a class officer of "Lifestyle Programmes". I was the first Hungarian member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. In 2014 I was a founding member of the Hungarian Lifestyle Medicine Association. Since 2018 I am the President of the Society. Since then, the promotion of lifestyle medicine has been an integral part of my life, which is why we published the first Hungarian Lifestyle Medicine specialist book in 2022. I have been a member of the European Lifestyle Medicine Organization (ELMO) since 2018. My main aim is to encourage the population to adopt a healthy lifestyle and to raise awareness in order to reduce the prevalence of lifestyle-related chronic diseases and to improve the management of them. To this end, I support, in addition to the above, the prescription of exercise and healthy nutrition in Hungarian general practice, as well as more frequent participation in group exercise programmes.
